Certified Internal Auditor (CIA®) Exam Prep
Expand your internal audit knowledge and prepare for the Certified Internal Auditor Exam!
USF Continuing Education, in cooperation with the Florida West Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA®), offers examination review programs designed for candidates planning to take the Certified Internal Auditor® Exam. Two formats are available:
- A comprehensive 64-contact-hour review program designed for any individual interested in this field. The program is offered in the fall and is composed of four parts. Each part constitutes a separate class. Instruction is paced to a more traditional semester format.
- An intensive 38-contact-hour program designed for individuals who have taken the CIA Learning System self-study and want a final review of critical exam topics. The program is offered in the spring as four parts in a nine-week period. The seminars are customized to meet the needs of the class-based instruction on the mandatory pre-class exam.

Continuing Education Units/Letters of Completion
Upon completing the program, you will be eligible for continuing education contact hours and receive a letter of completion from the University of South Florida, which may apply for professional development credit. Information about continuing professional education credits (CPEs) can be found on the IIA website.
About the CIA® Exam and Exam Eligibility
The internal audit function is an effective assurance and consulting function designed to evaluate and improve effective risk management, control and governance processes. To earn the CIA designation, candidates must meet predefined criteria. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or its equivalent from an accredited college-level institution. Full-time undergraduate students in their senior year may sit for the exam. Professionals holding qualified certifications may receive professional recognition credit for Part IV of the CIA® exam.
