Certification Preparation

Exam Preparation and Related Training

Our PMP® Exam Preparation course is designed for busy professionals who want to prepare for the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification exam and prefer an accelerated approach; the course also applies toward the educational requirement to sit for the exam.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt: This exam preparation program focuses on the improvement of business processes in organizations. Topics covered include problem solving, data collection, data interpretation, variation, process capability, cost analysis. elimination of waste and reductions in cycle time. The program also helps students prepare for the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Green Belt certification test.

The Effective Project Management course prepares you for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) Examination and fulfills the educational requirement to sit for the exam.

Our Effective Business Analysis course will help you learn how to document business processes, identify problems, and recommend opportunities for change.

Contract Training

We also offer group training in Project Management Basics as well as any of the core and elective certificate courses.

USF CertificateProject Management Certificate

Learn to effectively manage a wide range of projects in this comprehensive certificate program. You will develop and put into practice the fundamental tools of successful project management, using real-world case studies in a hands-on environment. As the program progresses, you will fine- tune these skills and learn to step beyond project management into a leadership role. Core courses are taught by Project Management Professionals® (PMPs) with extensive project management application and educational experience in a variety of industries. The program covers the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®), which serves as the fundamental knowledge base for project management. The certificate program is appropriate for:

  • Project, team or program managers
  • Portfolio managers
  • Technical leads, quality control analysts
  • Systems integrators, business systems analysts
  • Project team participants
  • Others interested in the growing field of project management
  • Participants who want to meet their 35-hour educational requirement to sit for the PMP exam
  • Existing PMPs or others needing CEUs or PDUs

To earn the Project Management Certificate, you must complete three core courses and two electives over a two-year period. When you have completed the requirements of the program, you may request your certificate. This certificate program meets the educational requirement to sit for the Project Management Professional® exam. Non-certificate students may enroll in individual courses.

Business Process Improvement Projects

In this course you will focus on the different challenges and approaches project managers must employ in managing Business Process Improvement (BPI) projects. The class will help you to reach the next level of proficiency and will deepen your understanding of the basic principles of managing projects successfully. The course is intended for practicing project managers, "occasional" project managers, functional managers, project participants, project sponsors, and others who would like to apply their skills to Business Process Improvement projects. Effective Business Analysis

This course focuses on the different challenges and approaches business analysts must employ in documenting business requirements effectively and efficiently. You will discover concepts, tools and ways to rapidly understand existing business processes and technologies. In addition, you will learn skills in understanding the root causes of business problems in order to facilitate design efforts in delivering a quality product to the customer. (21 contact hours)

Effective Project Management

This course aligns with the Project Management Institute's PMBOK® Guide, introducing a full range of topics in project management. It will deepen your understanding of the basic principles of managing projects successfully. IT Project Management

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

This program focuses on managing quality projects utilizing the fundamentals of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Lean topics include the concepts of the elimination of waste and reduction of cycle time in organizational processes. Six Sigma principles consist of problem solving techniques, data collection and data analysis, reduction of process variation, process capability and cost analysis. The program is designed to help students prepare for the University of South Florida Green Belt certification.
