English Language Skills for Non-Native Speakers

These courses are designed for non-native speakers who want to improve their personal communication skills in English. Our courses will help you:

Courses maybe taken individually or as part of our English Language Skills for Non-Native Speakers Certificate program.

USF Certificate

English Language Skills for Non-Native Speakers Certificate

The English Language Skills for Non-Native Speakers Certificate program is designed for individuals who want to enhance their careers and improve their personal communication skills in English. This program will help you reduce your accent, improve your oral communication, build your vocabulary, refine your writing, and increase your reading speed.

To earn the English Language Skills Certificate, you must successfully complete the four core courses and two electives within a two-year period. You must have an 80% attendance in each of the required courses to complete the program satisfactorily. When you complete the program requirements, you may request your certificate. Non-certificate students may enroll in individual courses.

Accent Reduction I

Improve skills in pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm patterns for speaking American English. This course is designed for both native and non-native speakers of English. (Purchase of textbook required)
